L.A. County Fair

We haven't been to the fair since the big kids were little babies and even then we only went one time. So Saturday we decided it would be fun to take them. We bought some discount tickets at Costco on the way and by about 5pm we were finally in the gates. We got a little food right away, some chicken kabobs, corn dogs and some fried zucchini all that for around $70, what a deal. :( after that we headed over to check out the animals. We got there just in time to see a calf being born. It was amazing. I thought I got some shots but they didn't turn out so good. There were so many people squished in there to see it was hard to get a good shot in there. I am so happy that the big kids and I got to see it. Made the whole trip worth it for me. Asher got to feed a cow. Lorelei loved to check out all the animals. Next we headed over to the rides and games. Riley and I rode the giant rainbow slide together. That was a blast. Then we threw some money away at trying to win a giant stuffed Pikachu. Pretty much impossible. Next we got some ice cream and caramel apples then headed home. The kids were all beat and it was a long long walk back to the car.

Summer trip to Nana and Papas

A couple weeks ago before summer break came to an end we took a trip to visit Nana and Papa. As always we had a wonderful time. We got to spend lots of time with Emily and Rebecca which always is the highlight of our vacation. While we were there we visited Lake Tahoe, went miniature golfing, rode go carts, had a birthday BBQ for Uncle Patrick and Jeff, I played blackjack at the Casinos, had a couple dates out with Jeff, went to the animal sanctuary, went hiking at Eagle Falls, went to the local water slide park, went jet skiing on Lake Tahoe, I rode for the first time on the back of my Dads Harley, had a nice night watching falling stars with my mom, hmm I am sure I must be forgetting something. It was such a great trip. The kids all did great especially Lorelei. She was in love with my mom the whole time. She went to bed great, took great naps and had so much fun with her Nana and Papa. We took a little side trip with just the big kids to Lake Tahoe for two days. I just love it there. Wish I could spend the entire summer on the shores. After a little over a week it was time to come home. The kids were all upset and wanted to stay. We are really looking forward to next summer.
